My name is Mary Smith. I was born in Indiana, but raised since the age of
three in Tucson, Arizona. My parents were married for 46 years before the death
of my father. I have been blessed with two of the most wonderful brothers God
could have given me. My brothers and I attended Catholic grade school. I then
went on to attend Immaculate Heart High School. I was married for twenty years
and have two beautiful daughters, Denise and Donette. God blessed me with 6
grandchildren that are the love of my life.
I have had my Mother live with me for over 20 years. My Mother is my best
friend and we truly enjoy each other’s company. She is a real sweetheart and is
loved by all. She has Alzheimer’s and is currently living in a care home five
minutes from my home. I visit often and bring her home for
visits frequently. I
take her out to eat often so she still feels a part of our world, not just
dropped off and forgotten. She is getting worse but, I thank God daily that
she’s not in any pain; she is only losing her memory.
I have worked in the grocery business for over 36 years in various
positions. My current position is a Core Trainer for a major grocery chain in
Arizona. I am passionate about my current position. I want to help people to
achieve success in there new position within our company. I train approximately
16 various classes, from Safety to Management Drug and Alcohol. It requires
patience to be able to train various personalities and abilities. I miss my job
tremendously, I have been ill since July 9, 2011. I specifically miss my fellow
trainers, store associates and especially my wonderful customers. They have
become my family over the last 36 years.
I want you to know that this Aneurysm has been a blessing to me. I thank
God the Father daily for giving me this illness as it has brought me closer to
Him and to my family. I have learned that whenever God the Father gives you any
type of illness, embrace it and thank Him, you will be blessed because of it.
God bless you,
Mary Smith
